Questions teams ask first
How Solemly reviews, what it can block, and what it keeps. Billing questions are on the pricing page.
Which platforms does Solemly work with?
GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket Cloud. Each has its own install, and reviews post natively on each: PR reviews and check runs on GitHub, MR notes and commit statuses on GitLab, PR comments and build statuses on Bitbucket.
Can it actually block a merge?
Yes. Solemly sets a Solemly / Review status on every pull request. Turn on blocking for a repo and mark the status as required in branch protection (or your merge checks), and a PR can't merge while a high-severity finding is open. Push a fix and the review re-runs.
Does Solemly keep a copy of our code?
No. It reads the diff and the related files while a review runs and sends them to the AI model to write the review. What it stores is the review itself - the comments and findings it posted - plus pull request details like title, author and merge time, for your reports.
How does it know our conventions?
It reads the agent instruction files already in your repo - CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, Cursor rules and similar - and reviews against them. The Context page shows exactly which files it found in each repository.
Can we control when it reviews?
Per repository: on every push, once per pull request, or only when someone comments @solemly review. Anyone with write access can also pause and resume reviews on a single PR.
Is there a free trial?
Yes - 14 days with every feature, and no credit card to start. Install it on a repo and your next pull request gets reviewed.
