Introduction
What Solemly is and how a review works, from pull request to merge.
Solemly is an AI code reviewer for GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket Cloud. It reviews every pull request as soon as it's opened or updated, posts its findings where your team already works, and can block a merge until high-severity problems are fixed.
How a review works#
- A pull request opens or changes.
- Solemly reads the change in context: the diff, the code around it, and your instruction files such as
CLAUDE.mdandAGENTS.md. - It reviews for bugs and security issues, and, if Jira is connected, checks the change against its linked ticket.
- It double-checks its findings before posting, so you see fewer, more reliable comments.
- It posts the result. Findings appear on the pull request, and
Solemly / …checks report the outcome. A check can block the merge if you turn that on.
What makes Solemly different#
- Reviews against your own rules. Instruction files you already keep for coding agents become review guidelines.
- Built to be a merge gate. Mark the Solemly check as required, and high-severity findings stop a merge until they're fixed.
- Checks the work, not just the code. With Jira connected, every pull request is compared against what its ticket asks for.
- All three code hosts. GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket each get native statuses and comments.
- Works with your coding agent. Every finding can be opened in Claude Code, Cursor or Codex with a ready-made fix prompt.
